Another wonderful Evening of Peace
On September 21st we celebrated the
International Day of Peace with our 4th annual awards dinner.
Below are a few of the very special people that helped make the Evening of Peace a great success.
Timna Medovoy and John Butterfield for their event leadership.
Millie Phillips for the beautiful jewelry that she created and donated for the raffle.
Janice Nakashima and PAX for helping us raise funds with their 2010 peace calendars. You can obtain one of these calendars with a donation of any amount by specifying in the online ordering instructions that you would like a calendar.
Marilu Carter, Akemi Turner and Guy Turner for leading the table decorations.
Tom King for his promotion of our work with Congressman Dennis Kucinich. The below is Congressman Kucinich's video acceptance of his 2009 Teach Peace Foundation award.
Education on why the drums beat for war with Iran
Pepe Escobar, born in Brazil, has been a foreign correspondent since 1985. Since the late 1990s he has specialized in covering the Middle East and Central Asia. We recommend watching the below video as Pepe provides insights on how the U.S.'s current actions against Iran fit into the larger geopolitical picture.
Volunteer and make a difference!
Volunteers are
always appreciated. We even need a volunteer to help coordinate the people
that are willing to volunteer. A few volunteers are very much needed to contact schools and obtain appointments for us to present the Washington, DC leadership education and training opportunity. We also want to increase our fund raising efforts so if you can help, please let us know.
