Greetings!
Last month was action
packed with Teach Peace progress including 70 full-year student scholarships,
emergency food aid delivery, school supply donations, Special Ambassadors
services and thousands of people benefiting from our education on the true costs
of nuclear power.
The photo on the right
showing Uriah receiving his first wheelchair in 2010 speaks volumes about why our
work is life changing. In this newsletter we update you on his progress.
Mother's Day is May 8th

Our efficient
Mother's Day card service saves you from going to the store to buy a card and at the same time is
a great way to remind everyone that Mother's Day was started as a day to
teach peace. You have the option of instructing us to send a paper card via US
mail or a card via email.
To
make a $25 donation to help us deliver acts of kindness and simultaneously have us send a card with a message you can personalize,

or on the picture on the left. For more information on the history of Mother's Day
as a day to teach peace,

Correct on Japan & Libya in last month's newsletter
At times we are
criticized for providing information that is different from official government statements
and what members are told by television news broadcasters. Often it takes months
or even years before the information we shared is proved correct. Our "hard to
believe" information in last month's newsletter took less than a month to be
verified as correct. We provide a summary below and for full details, see the
April newsletter.
Disaster in Japan
rated Level 7 and radiation now at highest levels
The radiation at the
Fukushima nuclear power plant is now
reported at the highest level since the disaster began. When our April
newsletter was published, we provided
well documented evidence that the true magnitude of the nuclear disaster was
being suppressed by the Japanese and the US governments.
One nationally known
nuclear expert commented we should be embarrassed for saying Fukushima was a
Level 6 or higher "event" on the
International Atomic Energy Agency scale. At that time Japan's government
rated the disaster at Level 4.
After a month of
covering up the true magnitude of the nuclear
releases, our critics went silent when Japan raised the
Fukushima nuclear disaster to
Level 7 which is
the highest possible disaster
rating. The darker truth
is with
three partial reactor
meltdowns and no end in sight for 2011, Fukushima
radiation releases are now expected to exceed the
radiation released from Chernobyl. Hironobu Unesaki, a
professor at the Kyoto University Research Reactor
Institute, said that
a ''five- to 10-year span''
may be needed for the Fukushima situation
to stabilize and measures to be implemented to stop
radioactive releases.
On April 28th,
responding to a shortage of nuclear workers, Japan
announced it would
scrap workers' annual
radiation dose limits.
Radioactive topsoil is now beginning to
be removed from school grounds
in Japan but
with releases continuing this action appears to be
more about fooling the public that the worst is over than a helpful measure to protect children
from radiation. The deadly radiation polluting the global environment prompted
87 Japanese organizations on
April 26th to
call for a nuclear-free society. As bad
as the coverup is in Japan, at least Japan's government is
warning people not to eat fish. Thousands
of tons of highly radioactive waste have
been dumped in the Pacific and
the Environmental Protection Agency has announced it will
not test fish, declaring the reason
is there is no
radiation danger. At the same time the
EPA is working on increasing the "acceptable" safe dose levels when the
truth is the existing levels are not safe.
For one of the best collection
of resources on the
nuclear disaster you will find anywhere showing the real costs associated with nuclear power,
read the
April newsletter and
our Real-World Nuclear Disaster Case Study.
Teach Peace correct about Libya's no-fly zone
as a "cover" story
We
opposed the US, French and British led March 19th bombing of
Libya. The "cover" story did not fly with us as killing
more people to help more people did not make sense. We went
on record that the real purpose is a new war to help
oil corporations.
Arab League Secretary-General Amr Moussa said: "What is happening in Libya differs from the aim of imposing
a no-fly zone...And what we want is the protection of civilians
and
not the shelling of more civilians."
President Barack Obama started attacking Libya without
Congressional approval. This is an impeachable offense and violation of his oath
of office. Do you remember Obama's
2007 statement criticizing President Bush? Obama said: “The President does not have
power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a
situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the
nation.”
On March 27, 2011, just 8 days after the war with
Libya started, the critics who claimed our allegations that concern for oil and international
banking, not freedom, was why US bombs were
falling were silenced when the
new oil contracts with the rebel government were disclosed. Surprising even
financial experts, on March 29, 2011 the rebel government announced they
established their participation in the global monetary system with the creation
of a
new central bank.
Teach
Peace
supports non-violent actions to demand
freedom and democracy for Libya which has sadly been oppressed
for decades by authoritarian rule. History teaches us the good
from starting wars is temporary and the evil inflicted is
permanent.
The Revolution Will Not Be Televised
Google
videos is shutting down so if you missed our past recommendation to watch
The Revolution Will Not Be
Televised, you should make the time to see it while you can because the
revolution won't be on Google either. This documentary exposed the failed CIA coup in Venezuela.
Two
independent filmmakers were inside the presidential palace on April 11, 2002,
when Hugo Chavez was removed from office. You may recall that on
November 26, 2007 the Venezuelan government
published a classified document from the US
embassy revealing CIA operations to overthrow Chavez's democratically elected
government. This documentary is a "sit on the edge of your seat" real-world
rollercoaster ride. Click
here to watch this amazing documentary.
Another
documentary worth making the effort to see before it disappears is
Secrets
of the CIA which has interviews with former CIA officers about their
work to poison the school milk supply in Cuba and a range of other demonic
projects. On a related note, a major work on the CIA was published reviewing the
history of the organization. The book,
Legacy of Ashes explains how the CIA has consistently opposed
democracy. In fact, since the inception of the CIA in 1947 it has never tried to
advance democracy by subverting the corporations that support dictatorships.
Peace Trip
Our
next volunteer trip is to Liberia in June. Our team consists of 14
people.
Projects include:
1. Livestock and seed
delivery
2.
Special
Ambassadors support
3. Scholarships
4. Delivery of food aid,
school supplies and clothes
Each of the above projects is
funded by our members. When you donate to support one of our acts of kindness,
you help change and save lives. To learn about how we efficiently deliver
donations, see our 2010 annual
report.

Special Ambassadors Acts of Kindness
People are often amazed about our services for
disabled children in Africa because these children are generally left to suffer
without assistance.
You may remember
Uriah shown on the left. Uriah is one of our Special Ambassador children. His
hut burned down last year and his grandmother, who had been his primary caretaker, died in the fire. Teach
Peace's Kevin Rockensies arranged for Uriah to obtain the necessities
he
knew Uriah would need (e.g., food, three new sets of clothes, a small
mattress, sheets, towels, wash cloths, soap, shampoo, toothbrush and toothpaste
and a basin). Kevin's mother Eileen was directly responsible for Uriah's
receipt of a
special new wheelchair. A total of 25
wheelchairs were sent to Liberia (made possible with the help of
another non-profit that runs a program called Liberia Mission).

As the
photo at the top of this Newsletter shows, Uriah has a fresh view of life --
with the help of Teach Peace and donors. One
of his first questions to our staff was "Can I sleep in my chair?"
Special
Ambassadors is caring in action which is one definition of "love" and "God." Acts of kindness and this is
what Teach Peace is all about - Love, Dignity, Respect and Acts of Kindness.

Thank you for your support
that enables us to help people here at home and across the globe.
We invite you to
make peace
possible by
accepting your
share of
responsibility
for a better
world.
Peace be with
you,
