Teaching peace
with
acts of kindness! |
February 2010 |
Greetings!
Do our Teach
Peace
Moments and
other
programs to
educate the
public
make a
difference?
Absolutely!
The recent
announcement
that the
US
government
is seeking
alternatives
for depleted
uranium
munitions is
something that
your
support helped
make
possible.
 For
three
years the
Teach Peace
Foundation
has been
educating
people
around the
world with a
depleted
uranium
Teach Peace
Moment. We
did this by
creating
top-notch
content that
was made
available
via several
website
addresses (enter
www.stopdu.org or
www.stopdu.com to
see how
it takes you
to the Teach
Peace
Moment).
While much
more work
remains to
end all
depleted
uranium use,
you should
feel good to
know that
you have
been part of
the progress
that is now
being
made. We can
and will end
the use of
this weapon
that
continues to
kill long
after the
fighting has
ended.
Supreme
Court
January 21,
2010
Landmark
Decision
 Our
latest Teach
Peace Moment
educates
members and
the general
public on
the January
21, 2010
Supreme
Court
decision
to allow
unbridled
corporate campaign
funding.
This
important
decision
builds upon
the
earlier
Supreme
Court
mistake that
gave corporations
the same
right of
free speech
as
an individual.
After seeing
the
Teach Peace
Moment,
you can
learn
more why the
January 21st
decision
threatens
peacemakers
by watching The
Corporation.
If the
public is
educated,
the Supreme
Court
decision
will
motivate the
public to
address the
root problem
of giving
non-human
entities
rights that
are used to
overrule the
people they
shoud be
serving.
