1. The student class leader (previously selected

possible by: (1) Identifying a needed change, (2) Describing how the change
makes the world better, (3) Creating a plan to bring this complex idea to life,
(4) Taking ownership for individual actions to support the change, and (5)
Determining if this change is a suitable community service project.
4. The group leader assigns students in the group to one of the 5 segments. The
group leader also is responsible for a segment.
5. Students are given time to read their segment and outline key points.
6. Students leave their jigsaw group for 20 minutes to meet with other students
sharing their same segment assignment. Students discuss the main points of their
segment and prepare to report back to their jigsaw group.
